The "Tri For Alice" was created by Brian Falciglia, Scott Falciglia and Andrew McDermott when they forged their dreams of a cure for Huntington’s Disease with their desire to compete in triathlons and other races. This is done in memory of Alice Falciglia who inherited the illness from her father and passed away in the winter of 2008.
Huntington’s Disease ("HD") is a fatal hereditary neurological disorder affecting 1 in 10,000 Americans. Presently there is no cure. The Huntington’s Disease Society of America ("HDSA") coordinates the research efforts of 16 experts around the globe to help find a cure. The mission of the Tri for Alice team and movement is to enlighten the public about HD and to facilitate donations to Sons of HD. We do this by encouraging current and new members to participate in athletic races like triathlons as a unified team. The goal may be to win each event, but regardless of what place you finish the idea is to "Tri" in memory of Alice.
